A postdoc position at the Centre for Humoral Immune Reactions in Cardiovascular Disease (ZIK HIKE; www.hike-autoimmunity.de) at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University Greifswald, Germany is available starting immediately. ZIK HIKE is a new interdisciplinary research centre supported through The Ministry of Education and Research 'BMBF' with the goal to explore the molecular basis of immune mediated cardiovascular diseases. The exquisitely equipped centre consists of closely collaborating groups from both the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine covering topics ranging from soft matter physics to cardiology. The position is affiliated with the newly established group 'Nanostructure', aiming at generating bio-mimetic model surfaces that evoke an immunogenic response. The tasks involve the generation of bio-functionalized nanostructured surfaces using electron beam lithography for the study of cell adhesion processes and the electron-microscopy based analysis of cellular !
structures on these surfaces. For this purpose, a new, dedicated Zeiss Supra40VP electron microscope is available equipped with an e-beam lithography unit and a cryo-EM preparation system. Experience in electron microscopy of biological samples or electron beam lithography is an advantage.
The salary is paid according to the TVL E14.
Greifswald is a small and vibrant city at the Baltic Sea, which hosts one of Europe's most modern university clinics as well as a modern and expanding university campus. Daily life is dictated both by the high percentage of students and by the closeness to the sea.
Please send your CV describing your research experience, a list of publications, a letter of recommendation and the names and contact details of two references addressed to Dr. Mihaela Delcea via Dr. Hans-Peter Müller, ZIK HIKE Greifswald, preferentially mailto: hans-peter.mueller@uni-greifswald.de
