Investigation of Red blood cell dynamics with micropipette technique and circular dichroism spectrometry

The Institute of Bioengineering announces 2 opening positions for a internship/bachelor project or master thesis.

The two main activities in the projectswill be for the first: To study of the effects of environmental factors and different chemical agents on the red blood cells by using micropipette technique and for the second: To investigate structural transitions in proteins by circular dichroism spectrometry (FZ Jülich).

The successful applicant should possess sufficient knowledge in biochemistry and cell biology. Important are also social competences, motivation, organizational skills and responsibility.

The participant will learn and use a broad spectrum of laboratory techniques such as, micropipette aspiration technique, confocal microscopy, UV spectroscopy, osmometry, circular dichroism spectrometry and dynamic light scattering. Experience in laboratory routines is considered as an advantage.

Languages: English or German

The applicants should send their CVs and a letter of motivation to Mrs. Rasha Bassam, M.Sc. (bassam@fh-aachen.de) or can present themselves personally each Tuesday at 14.00 h in 01A13.
