A graduate student position is immediately available at the Department of Immunology and Cell Biology/Research Center Borstel for a highly motivated biologist interested in studying immune cell functions in autoimmune disease models in mice (supervisor - Dr. Zane Orinska).
The position will be within the newly established DFG Research Training Group “Modulation of Autoimmunity” (GRK1727). The major goal of the GRK1727 is the identification and evaluation of novel therapeutic targets and strategies for autoimmune diseases. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in translational immunological research, ideally with experience in cell biology, immunology and/or experimental disease models. Previous exposure to basic immunology and molecular biology techniques are required. We expect an ability to search and review the literature independently and work in a team-oriented environment.
The Research Center Borstel is an equal opportunities employer. Applications from female candidates are strongly encouraged. In case of compatible qualifications, preference will be given to people with disabilities. The Research Center Borstel is certified for the audit “Beruf und Familie” (“job and family”) and specifically promotes the compatibility of career and family.
The candidate should hold a diploma or masters in biology or biochemistry and preferably have some experience in animal experiments. The position will be available for three years.
Candidates should submit, under the keyword GRK1727, a CV and the name of three referees to:
