The Nanostructure group at ZIK HIKE is seeking enthusiastic and creative PhD students with an advanced degree MSc) in biology, biochemistry or related fields. Candidates should have a strong interest in interdisciplinary work ranging from biology via physics to medicine. High knowledge of protein structure and protein interactions is of advantage.
The aim of ZIK HIKE is to explore the molecular basis of immune mediated cardiovascular diseases as well as the mechanisms of immune reactions to biotherapeutics. The antigen structures that derive from native, recombinant and altered proteins will be biophysically analyzed and their impact on the cells of the immune system will be investigated.
ZIK HIKE consists of two research groups, cell response and nanostructure which strongly interact with each other and offers excellent research facilities for professional and personal development.
Starting date of the position: Immediately, latest in January of 2012. The salary will be 50% of TVL13.
