Ph.D. student in Chemical Carcinogenesis (pharmacology/biochemistry/biology)

Purpose:
The student will have to set-up and execute a PhD research project, focusing on the development of preventive and therapeutic post-exposure strategies.

Specificity:
He/she will receive a working contract funded by a Luxembourg's AFR fellowship. The student is expected to participate in the preparation of this proposal.

Main activities:
- Conduct his/her research project under the best possible conditions in accordance with the conditions agreed between the university and the laboratory
- Work with a researcher who has set up a research project and participate in the drafting of scientific articles about the ongoing project
- Scientific writing of articles for peer-reviewed international journals
- Carry out experiments in the laboratory
- Develop a scientific methodology and techniques adapted to the research project
- Present the work as well as results during laboratory meetings and at international meetings
- Communicate problems and suggestions for possible solutions in a clear way

Methoden:
Scientific competence, work experience and diploma:
- Required diploma: MS or equivalent in biology/biochemistry/immunology
- A strong academic record and a keen interest/ knowledge in chemical carcinogenesis or in a relevant area of pharmacology, analytical chemistry, cell biology or related fields are essential
- Rigor, motivated, scientific creativity and originality, writing skills, conciseness, sense of priority and sense of human relations, punctual and reliable, time-management
- Knowledge of modern communication and computing skills
- Proficiency in English and good scientific writing skills are a must.
