We are a smaller research team of one postdoc, 5 phd-students, varying undergraduates and the group leader. We are now able to offer another postdoctoral fellowship position (starting at Nov 1, 2011 until May 2013 and presumably longer).
We are analyzing and modeling metabolism, signaling and regulatory networks of cancer cells using gene expression data from microarrays, RNA sequencing, and image data from RNAi knockdown screens. We employ machine learning methods, statistics, own developments (e.g. shaping out tumor specific regulation) to identify specific drug targets for cancer therapy and in particular for neuroblastoma tumors.
If you are interested in systematically detecting functional patterns of such data in networks, if you have a good experience in the analysis of high throughput data from functional genomics, and if you hold a degree in bioinformatics, physics, computer science, mathematics, biology or related subjects, we are looking forward to your application.
