Scientific Coordinator (m/f),Friedrich Schiller University of Jena,Germany

The chair of hydrogeology at the institute of geosciences of the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena seeks for a

scientific coordinator (m/f)

of the priority programme SPP 1315 “Biogeochemical Interfaces in Soil” (www.spp1315.uni-jena.de) funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The priority programme comprises 20 individual research projects across Germany and Austria covering interdisciplinary (chemical, physical, microbiological) studies on the properties, formation and maturation of biogeochemical interfaces in soil and their determining role for the fate or organic chemicals.

It is a 100%, fixed-term position starting from 1.10.2011 for an initial two years. Salary is according the German tariff TV-L 13.

Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the research projects and thematic groups, of joint experiments and integrative analysis of the results
- Organization of (international) meetings: annual SPP colloquia, scientific symposia, sessions at conferences, final SPP conference 2014
- Preparation of progress reports and integrative scientific publications
- Administration of the web page

Requirements:
- PhD degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., soil science, geoscience disciplines)
- Fluency in German and English
- Experience in scientific publishing
