PhD student position in London (United Kingdom)

Have you recently obtained your Diploma in Medicine of Biology? Are your interested in neuroscience, human diseases and genetic model organisms like Drosophila melanogaster? Would you like to study for a PhD in a top University located right in the middle of London?

A PhD student position is available at the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology (CDN) in the laboratory of Manolis Fanto to study cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Drosophila.  Registration as MPhil/PhD with KCL graduate study program will be required within July 2012 and can be backdated by three Months.

The MRC-CDN is rated as one of the best neuroscience institutions in the UK and is located at the Guy’s Campus of King’s College London, next to London Bridge station.
The Fanto lab studies the mechanisms of neurodegeneration due to Atrophin and Fat with a number of advanced genetic and cellular approaches.

I am looking for a highly motivated candidate, fluent in English, with a strong interest in genetics or neurobiology, willing to learn how to work independently on this project, whilst integrated into a larger group effort.
