PostDoc Position in the Molecular Biomechanics group (Heidelberg, Berlin, Shanghai) (Heidelberg, Germany)

PostDoc Position in the Molecular Biomechanics group at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) in Heidelberg, Germany

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a postdoc position in the field of computational molecular biomechanics. The project will involve the usage of novel molecular modeling and simulation techniques, for studying the interplay of biochemistry and mechanics in blood coagulation proteins. The successful candidate will be part of a prolific interdisciplinary research consortium funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), fostering a direct collaboration with experimentalists and clinicians.

Candidates should have a PhD degree in computational biophysics, chemistry or related fields. A broad expertise in Molecular Dynamics simulations or Molecular Modeling, preferably in both, is required, as evidenced by the applicant’s publication record and presentations at international conferences.

Directly involved are the Theory Department of the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (FHI-MPG, Carsten Baldauf, www.fhi-berlin.mpg.de/~baldauf) and the Molecular Biomechanics Group of the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS, Frauke Graeter, www.h-its.org/english/research/mbm/). Main working location will be HITS in Heidelberg, a non-profit research laboratory with a strong focus on computational biology. Research stays at FHI-MPG in Berlin or at PICB in Shanghai are possible and encouraged.

To apply, please send a short motivation letter, CV, list of publications, and contact details of three references by August 31 to:
