PhD student is sought to work in the framework of a BOF funded project in the domain of toxicometallomics, Universiteit Hasselt (Sonstige)

A motivated PhD student is sought to work in the framework of a BOF funded project in the domain of toxicometallomics. The project aims to develop analytical strategies and analytical methods for the determination of the concentration of heavy metals and metalloids including element speciation in biological fluids (blood samples). To reach this aim in first order ICP/MS and hyphenated techniques will be used on a great number of samples. Results will be correlated with data on the molecular level (outcome of another PhD student) to study the mechanism and relationships with fine dust and their role on health effects.

Profile and Qualification/diploma
The candidate is expected to perform research in the area of analytical chemistry. Candidates will have a master degree in chemistry, biochemistry, bio-engineer or an equivalent diploma. A good command of the English language and willingness to perform research in team-oriented research is required. Experience in ICP/MS and hyphenated techniques is recommended.
