PhD Position in Department of Environmental Geoscience,University of Vienna,Austria

The Department of Environmental Geoscience is a highly motivated international group carrying research in hydrogeology, fate of inorganic/organic pollutants and nanogeoscience.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a 4 year pre-doc research assistant with the possibility to complete a PhD degree. The 4 year-position includes:

   the support from senior researchers  to develop all the skills necessary to complete a PhD project, from the development of a research problematic up to the publication of the results

   excellent laboratory facilities + financial support for the research activities

   working in a motivating and international environment (working language is English) and being exposed to many valuable opportunities for career development (networking, conferences, teaching experience etc…)

   Annual salary of 25-30 000 € gross, including health/pension scheme

We are looking for applicants with a Diploma/Master in Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry. The successful applicant will be willing to carry out research within the fields of our Department (please visit our webpage for further information) and to actively contribute to the tasks of the working group (e.g. teaching, responsibilities for lab instruments). He/She will be motivated, independent and reliable so that research goals can be achieved. Good writing/communication skills and analytical or modelling experience are appreciated.
