Postdoc - Molecular Neurobiology (Berlin),Germany

Our group is active in the field of cellular and molecular neurobiology with a focus on mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, modulation of synaptic transmission and neurological disorders, such as epilepsy, Alzheimers’s disease, mental retardation, and autism. To support our team we are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher

with a research focus on molecular neurobiology. We are looking for a team- and goal-oriented personality who wants to work in an exciting research environment. The candidate should hold a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or related field. The project will involve characterization of synaptic proteins, receptors and mapping of their signalling cascades. Therefore, we expect the candidate to have a strong background and technical experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and/or cell biology. He/she should be able to design, establish, perform and interpret independently DNA cloning, protein biochemistry, immunocytochemistry and cell culture experiments. In the local environment of the Cluster of Excellence ‘Neurocure’, several SFB projects, and the Berlin neuroscience community, access to leading-edge technology and several multi-user facilities is granted. Understanding of electrophysiology is an advantage, but not a prerequisite, as a primary goal will be to integra!
te results from biochemical work and electrophysiological data acquired by other lab members. English communication skills are essential.
We encourage to develop and explore own project ideas, and to write own research grants. Along this line, the possibility for “habilitation” is given.
The position will initially be restricted to 2 years. Charité advocates gender equality. Women are therefore strongly encouraged to apply. Equally qualified handicapped applicants will be given preference.

Please send your application containing CV, publication record, a short description of your previous and future research interests, and two academic reference addresses via mail or e-mail to:
