Our group focuses on transcription factors that are essential for
normal neocortical development. For our studies we use conditional
mutant mice (Cre/loxP system) that show a complex phenotype in the
CNS. Besides a reduced neocortex, we could observe defective migration
and abnormal terminal differen-tiation of cortical neurons. The
molecular mechanisms, that underlie these findings, yet remain
incompletely characterized.
We offer a grant-funded PhD position in a well-equipped lab with the
possibility to join the International Graduate School in Molecular
Medicine Ulm. Our methods spectrum comprises molecular biological,
immunohistological, biochemical, and embryological techniques, as well
as cell culture and confocal microscopy.
We seek a highly motivated and ambitious candidate with an excellent
degree in biology or biochemistry and some experience in mouse model
as well as molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry. Applicants
