The Cell Mechanics group at BioQuant, the Center for “Quantitative Analysis of Molecular and Cellular Biosystems” at University Heidelberg, seeks applications for several Diploma/Master and one PhD position. We focus on the experimental and theoretical investigation of mechanical cell properties and their relationship to molecular cell profiles in norm and pathology. In our research, we combine diverse methods for
· single cell micromanipulation,
· high-throughput optical rheology,
· microscopic imaging,
· molecular screening,
· numerical data analysis, in particular,
image-based modelling.
Your profile: a background in biophysics, engineering and/or biology is required. Experience in experimental cell biology, microscopy, computational data analysis and programming is a plus.
