The research groups of Prof. Roser Valentí and Prof. Claudius Gros at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Goethe University of Frankfurt have an opening for a post doctoral position in the field of computational solid state physics / strongly correlated systems.
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in solid state physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Goethe University of Frankfurt.
The candidate should have a PhD degree in theoretical condensed matter physics or material science with an excellent academic background and good computational skills. Experience in the fields of correlated electron systems and first-principle calculations (Density Functional Theory) are expected. Knowledge on dynamical mean field theory (DMFT) is also desired.
The research will be in the fields of:
- unconventional superconductors (copper oxides, Fe-based superconductors, organic superconductors)
- frustrated magnetism
- multilayered heterostructures
The appointment will start at the earliest after a suitable candidate has been chosen and will be for one year to be extended up to a total of 3 years. The selection process will take place as soon as possible until the position is filled.
Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of the past research activities and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent electronically to the e-mail addresse given.
Salary according to E13 TV-G.U.
Goethe-University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Please consider the corrected deadline: 28. Febr. 2011.
