Graduate College, Molecular and cellular responses to ionizing radiation, 16 PhD scholarships ,TU Darmstadt,Germany

In a DFG-funded Graduiertenkolleg (GRK 1657)
„Molecular and cellular responses to ionizing radiation“
at Technische Universität Darmstadt we offer
16 PhD scholarships

for the duration of 3 years, starting April 1st 2011.

The graduate college provides an excellent interdisciplinary environment for research in molecular radiation biology together with a comprehensive education curriculum in this field. Research is focusing on different aspects of the molecular and cellular response and molecular targets to ionizing irradiation and is supported by the Technische Universität Darmstadt (Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Physics), the Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung (GSI) and the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology at the University of Frankfurt.

Applications in the fields of Molecular Cell/Radiation Biology, Medicinal Chemistry/ Biochemistry, Physics/Biophysics or Biomedicine, either with an experimental or theoretical background, will be considered. Successful candidates will have an excellent Diploma or Master degree in any of the aforementioned disciplines.

More information on the scientific topics, the research projects and on the application process can be found at www.grk1657.de

Address your application until 21st of January 2011 to the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Speaker of GRK 1657, Prof. Dr. Markus Löbrich, FB 10, Schnittspahnstr. 13, 64287 Darmstadt, or by e-mail to secretary@grk1657.de
