Postdoctoral position at the Institute for Medical Immunology
A two-year postdoctoral position is available immediately in Pr Michel Braun’s laboratory at the Institute for Medical Immunology (IMI) of the University of Brussels (ULB), Belgium. The laboratory is working on understanding the biology of T cells chronically stimulated by persistent antigens. We aim at identifying new vaccine strategies that could control chronic immunological diseases.
The present project is funded by the Funds for Scientific Medical Research (FRSM) of Belgium. It focuses on the role played by miRNA-mediated gene regulation in T cells submitted to chronic antigenic stimulation. The successful candidate should have a PhD or equivalent with a strong background in molecular immunology. Experience in regulation of gene expression with small RNAs is desired but not essential.
The Institute for Medical Immunology is jointly funded by the Wallonia Region and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals. The Institute offers excellent, well-equipped, laboratory space and extensive shared facilities, including SPF animal house, molecular biology lab, confocal microscopy, microarray plat-forms, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry and bio-imaging systems.
Qualified applicants should submit by email a single PDF application file, including a cover letter outlining research interests, CV, and the contact information of three referees tombraun@ulb.ac.be
Closing date for application is 15 February 2011
