There are funded PhD positions in bioinformatics available at the International Max Planck Research School for Computational Biology and Scientific Computing (IMPRS-CBSC) in Berlin, Germany, starting autumn 2011.
We invite applications for a 3-year PhD program aimed at students holding a master’s or comparable degree in bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or biology. Students with a degree in mathematics, computer science and physics are expected to have the relevant biological background, whereas students with a degree in biology should be able to demonstrate profound knowledge in mathematics and computer science.
The degree should be awarded before October 2011.
Areas of research include mathematical modelling, evolutionary genomics, computational systems biology, proteomics. For further details please visit our website: www.imprs-cbsc.mpg.de
The IMPRS-CBSC is a joint program between the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, the Freie Universitaet Berlin and the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai. The program language is English.
Please apply before the 25th of February, 2011, through our online application form at www.imprs-cbsc.mpg.de/application.shtml or contact Kirsten Kelleher (kelleher@molgen.mpg.de) for further questions.
