We are a member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, a leading association Europe-wide, focusing on “Environmental Health”.
The aim of our research is to proactively detect health risks for both humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy of diseases.
The international Helmholtz Graduate School Environmental Health (HELENA) is a joint initiative for the promotion of doctoral students of the Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM).

The detection of health risks for both humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy of diseases. For the PhD Position you need expertise and genuine interest in one of the following areas:
* Diabetes, Lung Biology
* Neuro and Stem Cell Biology
* Infection, Immune and Tumor Biology
* Epidemiology, Health Economics, Human Genetics
* Radiation Research
* Ecosystems Biology
* Systems Biology, Biomedical Imaging, Structural Biology.
Your Qualifications
* Highly qualified and motivated students from all nationalities with a genuine interest in basic and translational research are invited to apply.
* Applicants should hold a MSc or equivalent degree in biological sciences, chemistry bioinformatics, physics, mathematics, veterinary or human medicine or related life sciences.
