SIgN-NTU Immunology PhD Program is open for August 2012 applications (Singapore)

SIgN-NTU Immunology PhD Program – August 2012 Intake

•       A joint initiative by NTU’s School of Biological Sciences (SBS) and  A*STAR’s Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN)
•       Program is targeting both local and international students.
•       Research-based program with minimum coursework
•       The PhD degree will be conferred by NTU to students who fulfill graduation criteria.
•       Program Board members comprise Professors from NTU’s SBS and Principal Investigators from SIgN (A*STAR).
•       Students can be under the supervision of SIgN PI or NTU Professor, or joint supervision.
•       2 types of scholarship are available (granted for 4 years):
•       AGS:  A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (local students)
•       SINGA:  Singapore International Graduate Award (international students).
ELIGIBILITY:
•       MSc. or BSc. (Hons - 2nd upper class and above) in Life Science
•       Passion for research (experience in immunology is an advantage)
•       Excellent academic results
•       Good recommendation from academic referees
•       Proficiency in English

Curriculum
•       The core curriculum (thesis) is the research project related to immune regulation and human immunology. All students have to present an annual progress report on their research work to the Program Board and TAC.
•       The side curriculum includes 2 NTU modules (Foundation courses), participation to international summer school in advanced immunology, seminar-based course,  and Small group teaching course.
