Graduate position in bioinformatics at the German Cancer Research Center

Interested in computational network analysis and systems biology of cancer cells?

We are a research team of one postdoc, 5 phd-students, varying undergraduates and the group leader. We are offering a position for performing a phd-thesis in bioinformatics.

We are investigating and modeling metabolism, signaling and regulatory networks of cancer cells. Experimental data is taken from microarrays, RNA sequencing, and image data from RNAi knockdown screens. We employ machine learning methods, statistics and own developments (e.g. shaping out tumor specific regulation) to identify specific drug targets for cancer therapy and in particular for neuroblastoma tumors.

If you are interested in machine learning like neural networks and are eager to develop and establish new concepts which may also come from physics (statistical mechanics), and if you hold a degree in physics, bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, biology or related subjects, we are happy to receive your application.
