The candidate for this position should hold a university degree in hydrology, geoecology, geoinformatics, water management, climatology or a related discipline, and preferably have some experience in hydrological modelling and programming (Fortran, C). Excellent data analysis skills (ArcGIS, MapWindow, GRASS), fluency in English (writing, speaking), oral presentation skills, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team are further essential requirements. The position involves integrated vulnerability assessment related to the water cycle (quantity and quality aspects) at the regional scale with a focus on climate change, water resources management and land use change, using the ecohydrological river basin model SWIM.
Initially, the position is fixed-term until 30 September 2014, in the framework of the EU-funded project “Integrated water resources and coastal zone management in European lagoons in the context of climate change” (LAGOONS).
