Professor in Bioinformatics at the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen, Norway

Professor in Bioinformatics at the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen, Norway

The professorship at the Department of Informatics is open for candidates with competence and research interests across all fields of bioinformatics and computational biology. The bioinformatics group at the Department of Informatics consists of three professors (including this vacant position), post-docs, and PhD-students and is integrated with the Computational Biology Unit (CBU), consisting of in total of 8 groups and 35 people. The group has access to excellent computational infrastructure including a local Cray XT4 with 1388 quad-core processors and 6064 GB of memory (soon to be upgraded) and is co-located with Department of Molecular Biology, Department of Biology, and the Sars International Centre for marine molecular biology.
